All about the U
I am taking the background out of my tank and want to paint every side except the front black. I can't move the tank but I just wanted to know if it is 100% safe for fish and rays. Also what would be the best paint or spraypaint. Should I add a gloss or anything over the paint?

I dont want to move it. It is a 300 gallon glass DAS tank. There are wood panels on both sides halfway to the front and when you look at them through the inside you see silicone holding the wood panels. So I wanted to paint inside so you cant see these and then paint the bottom black as well.

How about obstructing the view with a row of tall artificial plants?

If you're really set on painting the inside of the tank then I think I have heard of people using Krylon fusion without issues with their fish. Might want to look into that. It's good stuff, gets solid coats, and sticks to everything (including plastic, fyi).

As far as glossing goes, I would personally believe a matte/flat finish to look the best. Just my opinion.
