I'm planning to paint the back of my tank, planning t use spray paint for this.
Currently i have an arowana and some motoros in the tank. but will bag them temporasrily while painting.

any problem with this? i'm planning to put the fish back even before the paint outside has fully dried.

thanks.

Let the paint dry completely. The fumes are toxic to the fish.

I would cover the top of the tank tightly with some plastic wrap or garbage bags and tape. So that no over spray gets in the water.

Most spray paints dry completely in a hour or less.So just leave the plastic in place long enough for the paint to cure somewhat. And if doing this in a confined area have some fans running thru windows to evacuate the fumes.

You will be fine no worries. I have done it several times.

I worked at a automotive body shop as a kid that had a tank set up in the show room. But it was in the wall and the back of the tank was in the work area. As well as the uncovered sump. And we painted everyday and sometimes for 10-12 hours and all we had was a good ventilation system. The fish were nothing special but the never died in the 3-4 years i worked there.

I wouldn't even bag them. It might cause too much stress. Just cover the tank tighly and you should be good.

thanks :) my problem is the back is close to the wall, so i have to remove all the water to be able to move the tank for painting :D
