Thinking of painting the back of my tank black. haves any one done this? if so does it look good and do you just spray boom it?

I used black bristol board and taped it on the back lol looks pretty good and only cost $2

After painting with black latex (flat or gloss it doesn't matter) I put on a layer of duct tape. This will keep HOB's or other stuff coming in contact with the back from scratching the paint, as it doesn't really adhere that well. Just remember when applying the tape, not to try to pull it off and reposition it as all the paint will come off with it. Just put another piece over it if you miss a spot.

Burt :)

Make sure to cover your tank with news paper (on EVERYSURFACE THAT YOU ARE NOT PAINTING). Also do it out side, spray paint makes a mess of the ground also. DOUBLE TIME COVER EVERYTHING YOU DONT WANT PAINT ON! EVEN THE INSIDE OF YOUR TANK ! I use any cheap spray paint I can get my hands on and do around 4 layers of it. It does look good. Any type of black works.

Ive done spray paint and its good,
Also have a tank with 5% tint on the back, also looks great.
