Painting the back of the tank black

Hi what paint should i use and where can i get it from in the UK?

I use black spray paint. Just lay the side you're painting flat to reduce teardrops in the paint. Works perfectly for me

I used latex house paint and it worked fine too. Pretty easy to scrape off later if you want a color change.

Most craft stores also sell various colors of latex paint in smaller containers that can easily be rolled on.

I prefer to spray a piece of styrofoam insulation black, and tape it to the back. Gives the same effect, and also helps keep temp stable.

Isn't it better to use sticker?

We use something called oyama sticker to stick on our tanks... easier to change color or sell the tank when required

Just use Plasti Dip

I used plasti dip. It was about three coats.

Plastidip...now that's an excellent idea. Roll it on I suspect? Does it stay wet long enough to allow for good coverage of do you have to hurry up before it dries? I'm about to put a 6foot long 125 together and painting it with plastic dip would really make it simpler.

It comes in spray which is a lot easier imo
