I'm thinking of using Krylon Fusion to paint the pvc. The only issue is would it be okay to insert the overflow after it dries? Dry time takes 15 minutes, so I'm planning on immediately putting it back into the tank, so i don't lose my bacteria in the sump. I don't have any left over pvc to use while i'm painting it. Suggestions/Ideas?

Drying time may be 15 minutes, but I'd give it 24 hours to become chemically inert. Isn't it a matter of $10 worth of parts from Home Depot to make a new one? That way you could wait a day or two until it is properly bonded to the PVC and has released any toxic fumes.

Exactly as stated. Why risk all the $ you have in fish (and your bio-filter) over $10 worth of parts. Get the replacement 1st. Then, paint and properly cure the main overflow.

i used the KRYLON FUSION on a spraybar i made it started bubbling up ALLLLL over about 2 weeks after being in the water?

black ABS pipe and fittings maybe? that's what i'm using, if your looking for black that is. You can adapt it to your other plumbing. I know HD here has tons of ABS.
