Just go get black backgrouns i think it looks better and if you want to take it off you can.

ive painted the back of all my tanks with enamel and great results.

:iagree:

use lots of thin coats and mask off everything you dont want black (so you dont get overspray on the parts you want unpainted).

I painted the back of my tanks black & after painting I used masking tape on the back, that way your hob filter or anything else wound scratch off the paint

That's a good idea:)

I have used spray paint successfully on all of my aquariums.

I applied a very very light coat to start with. This will give the other coats something to grip to.

After the first coat, I added as many coats as I needed.

I would also paint the bottom of the tank while you are at it. Youll never know if you'll decide to do BB at any time. Beleive me, its easier to do it now, than to have to take down the tank later to do it. ;)

Nrmally glass has to be roughed up some for paint to stick, or you get the holes mentioned. Ask at a paint store about it. I'd also only paint the sides, maybe the bottom.

I'd use a background on the back. That way you've got an extra front when yours gets scratched.
