Hey guys, just chasing a little bit of confirmation for piece of mind regarding my Firemouth pair, both fish are around 2-2.5".

It's been about 3 days since a failed spawn of eggs didn't hatch and since about a day before and ever since, my Firemouth have not been keen for food and have been slightly less active than usual. They're usually the most active fish in my tank, but have been lurking around the back and in caves since.

I feed them a varied diet of sinking custom protein pellets, Hikari Green Staple, a custom mix of 50% Green Prawn, 50% Peas/Brocolli, Fish Multivitamins and Gelatine blended together in little chunks, and the very occasional (once a fortnight if that) treat of live shrimp/small guppies (Tried this today but they didn't touch any of them). They also get a chopped up pea between the four of them maybe once a week around midday. I'm confident they aren't overfed.

No visual indicators as to a decrease in health. No heavy breathing, inflammation, no bloating or physical damage.

Water parameters are close to perfect. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 15 (4-5 days since water change), pH 7.1.

Has anyone else had fish fall into a similar state after a failed spawn?
