So I decided to get a pair of firemouths next Friday. Going to get some swordtails also. How many swordtails should I get and should I get anything else. Like a Pleco,catfish,etc. I have a 55 gallon tank.
Regarding the swords, If you have more than 1 male,don't just get two or the dominant one will constantly bully the other. You need 1 male or a few.I have about 6 males and they do well.
Ideally you want 2 females to every male.
