Guys I noticed that my pair of Kelberis are attacking the driftwood. Am not sure if they trying to re-arrange the deco inside the tank. They are digging a lot too. Is that a signs that they are about to lay eggs?

Nice bass and very good quality pics!

They are looking/making/cleaning a breeding site to lay eggs, think they will lay on the wood very soon, or if you want place a piece of slate or a flower pot dish in and watch them go

Yeah they should be spawning very soon. this behavior can take place for a few days to a week even. I have had the best success by once I see them behaving this way, I will do daily 20-25% water changes. After 3 days of that, on the 4th day I will do another water change with slightly cooler water and I get eggs the next day. The eggs will hatch in 60 hours and then become free swimming about 3 days after that. If you plan on raising the fry I would suggest you removing the eggs and putting them in their own small tank, I use a 10 gallon, and then you can raise them there. Make sure you have A LOT of newly hatch baby brine shrimp for them once they are free swimming. Best of luck!

That's a very good information bro. Thank you! So once they lay the eggs should I move them right away or wait for another day? Is it easy to remove the eggs if they are attached on the driftwood? Thanks!

Best to place a flower pot dish or slate for them to lay, This way it'll be much easier to remove rather than trying to remove that large driftwood.

If they lay on the wood you can either remove wood or wait until eggs hatch and siphon them up but make sure the new tank where fry will be the water is the same as main tank (siphon water from main tank) and temp is the same
