it seems like 2 of my cobras have taken a liking to each other. Together all the time, even feeding they stay side by side and now even sharing the females safe place. It started off pretty rough but hope we get there soon! :naughty:

Depends on their size.....they won't really start pairin up till they are at least 7 to 8" long. Before that, they will just hang out together for the most part for 'companionship'. Lugubris pikes are one of the few pike groups that will actually 'school' together while they are still juv. with little aggression. Its once they hit subadult that the problems start. Unfortunately, Saxatilis pikes don't have this same behavior and dislike other pikes right from the start.

they are in the 7" range...I can just hope

They are gettin close to pairin then for sure. How many are there? If there are more than 2 watch the other ones cuz if those two DO pair up, those other ones are gonna take a beatin...

there were 5...lost one and removed the other 2...they were getting beat up

when the xingu II hit pm me...i will be in the game for a few if you are letting some go, Im hoping my Xingu III pair soon as well....they are in the 5 range now...I have a few of them as well

Nice...for sure man. I only have three xingu II though...they were supposed to be marmoratas...nadusnadus and I got them both at the same time from Rapps...so he has 5 of them.....he was tryin to sell his but i talked him into keepin them...haha. So yeah, we both will be gettin rid of some pretty soon...;)...since they are the same size.

my cobra's paired off right away even when they were at the 5 inch stage. Now they are respectfully 6 and 8 and seem to really dig each other. I'm at the point now where i can safely say i have a pair. i didn't want to jinx it but i'm pretty sure of it now. i was going to add another cichlid to the tank but have decided not to mess with them. the only thing that scares me is that they are in a 100 gallon tank. will this work out over the long run?
