Pairing up Dovii's?

Okay, so today a cousin of mine asked me if I know how exactly do Doviis pair up? So I told him I'm not sure about it and will give him an answer soon after I get some info...so I need your guys help with their experiences about pairing up Doviis.

1. How exactly do they pair up? And can you pair them up together or do they have to pair up by themselves?
2. Will they fight if you try to pair them up?
3. After they are paired up, will they fight each other still?
4. And how often do they breed?

You dont pair them up they do it themselves. You have to be careful when introducing the female to the male. HAve a divider ready or a big tank with plenty of hiding spots for the female. MAle may beat on her if she is not ready to spawn. Tough love thats how it goes when pairing cichlids. I got lucky when introducing my new female to my male. He has been by himself for awhile. As soon as I put her in, he just started showing off for her and head quivering. Breeding behavior quickly. They bothe started digging out the gravel and spawned in 2 days of her being in the tank. I posted a vid with them in the sa/ca media section.

Not to derail. Is your dovii any one of the two you got from thomas?
 
Who niteoner? Only one is. The other male i ordererd.
 
Who niteoner? One male is from him and my other i got from someone else.
 
Current Report: My cousin put the female dovii, which is about 1" or 2" bigger than the male, and the male started swimming in circles of the female and flaring and flashing its side to her. Is this a sign of the male pairing with the female? So far he told me it's been 3 hours and no serious fighting has come in yet. So what do you guys think?
 
Yeah my male did the same thing when I put a new female in there with him. They spawned two days later. Normal what the male is doing. Just keep a close eye on them to make sure the male isnt to rough on her.
