are there any tricks to pairing up festae... i have 2 females and one male i want pair him up with one. One female is about the same size as the male and the other female is about an inch bigger than he is.. Any suggestions that may keep them from killing each other when i put them in the tank together?

put a divider in there for a week. then try to remove the divider and if you see them fighting, put it back in. repeat til they show breeding behavior.

No there really aren't any tricks to pairing up festae. You have to let them pair up on their own. This is with festae or any other species. Many times people are fortunate enough to place a male and a female together and they pair up without any problems. More often than not though, tragedy occurs with festae. You just have to be vigilant and patient. Let the festae do the rest. The devider method is excellent advice. Place the male in between the two females and see how it works out after the devider is removed. Make sure you take the devider out when you have plenty of time to keep an eye on them. Another method you can try is place other species in the tank with them. By doing so, it may or may not take the attention off of the three of your festae from fighting one another. Also keep in mind that the three festae that you have may not pair up with one another. Good luck with trying to pair them up. I wish you the best with your festae!

road thats the male i bought from you that little while ago he already grew out bigger than that smaller female..
