Do you like to keep your fish in pairs or singly/groups? Personally I think a mated pair of cichlids looks MUCH more appealin than a single fish of the species! I seriously love pikes, and even though I will jump at any chance i get to own certain species...I would MUCH rather have them as a pair! It just seems like my cichlids are incomplete without a mate....:P. What'chall think?

I like having a mix of fish but I like pairs in the mixes so they arnt so lonely..

Pairs and groups are nice. With pikes, you just about have to keep either one or a large group. Non-breeding/bonded pairs will almost always fight and these fights are to the death. A group setting will allow for some spreading of any aggressive member's attention with no single individual being the brunt of all the aggressive behavior.

Pair of pikes fight to the death? huh....thats odd....the pairs of pikes I've had are always faithful, take turns eating even..lol. They seem like loyal to their partners to me. They do have squabbles though...lol...thats for sure. I totally agree on the groups though, helps to dismiss aggression superbly! :D
