Pakistani-Indian Spotted Pond Turtle - Very Rare?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you mean Geoclemys hamiltoni, they are extremely rare and fairly expensive.

Depends on where you are located. They are listed on the Endangered Species Act and as a result, interstate sale is prohibited without FWS permits. You can purchase them from breeders in your own state but not all states have any breeders and others have a few. If you're in Florida, there are a few breeders and you can expect to pay about $300-350 retail for a hatchling. In other states it is typically a lot more.

there was a guy at daytona who had a whole tub full of baby hamiltoni's @ $150 in 10lots. They're common as sliders in FL.

Hamiltoni are not as rare as everyone thinks...........They are common in there home range, but that range is small.........Bill Ninesling and Wayne Hill produce ALOT, and they are slowly populating other states..........They shouldn't be on the ESA........Makes absolutley no sense what so ever.......
