Can t. Palembangensis be kept with other fish or is it a stictly species tank puffer.

it is a piscivore, so pretty much assuredly anything in with it is not going to survive for long.

I was thinking with fish substantialy larger, is it still going to bite chunks out of the fish or do they generally leave fish way too big to eat alone?

looks like ill be keeping him alone if i get him. how long will a 24" x 12" last a small 3" one

Not sure but plan on eventually 40g for it.

the tank it will go in is tall and hold 40ish gallons so there should be enough volume to dilute the amount of waste puffer produce, but seeing as the grow 8", what should the dimensions of its next tank be?

I have a pair of Palembang puffers and i must say tank mates might just work if you gave each palembang a well decorated ~100G with lots of caves to live in with fast - top level dither type fish... but in a 40G i most likely wouldn't risk putting in any fish other than the odd quarantined feeders...
