Finally ready to start on the paludarium I've always wanted to do.

Plan-
It's a standard 75 gallon glass aquarium, and I want to fill it about 40% full with water. In the water will be my 12" african lungfish. Up above the water, I want to set up a rainforest canopy type thing. House geckos/green tree frogs would inhabit that part (cheap, easy to replace little guys that wouldn't be a huge loss if they became lunch for the lung). Vines and plants hanging over the water, with a few rocks standing out of the water.

Question: How could I create rock overhangs or flat places for the lizards or frogs?

Please leave me with any comments, questions, or tips.

Thanks.

When the lung gets older the tank will be too small, but other than that it seems like a good idea

I've created a smaller scale paludarium before where there was a proper land area above the water line in the past, but the way i supported it on the bottom was with T-shaped acrylic pieces which would leave little to no room for your lung fish... unless the decor on the land area is quite light then you maybe able to do it with a few pieces of acrylic supporting a thicker piece of acrylic ontop to hold the land area up...

I like the idea of acrylic pieces..

Something like that with supports that hold up an acrylic sheet?

Where would I find different sized acrylic pieces though?

And how could I cover the acrylic so it looked better/more natural, and was more suitable for the animals?

If I were going to do this I would make some support columns using pvc tubing. With eggcrate on top with either a weed barrier or window screening on top.
