Panama pond build... What fish and setup for this climate

I live in the country of Panama. I have a large outdoor space at a new hostel I am creating and very much want to put in a outdoor pond with tropical fish. I was thinking Central American cichlid pond but I have never done this so starting the information search now.

Can these fish live in a outdoor pond in this part of the world? If not Central American Cichlids what other fish would work well outside in Panama? What kind of filters would be needed? Pond size? Best places you recommend other then this forum where to find quality info on ponds like these.

Since panama is in central America, yes, you can keep CA Cichlids there. Also most tropical Asian, SA, Australian and African fish.
Pond size and filtration would depend on what you want to stock

as said Iw ould like to stock Central American cichlid in my pond. Labor hear is not the problem as its very affordable but need to make sure i get the right setup for my pond before I start. Also in a Central American cichlid pond what kind of plants would I be able to grow?

IME large central american cichlids dont do well with plants but you could try some hardy plants like java moss anubias and java fern
