Hello,
I am looking for a pleco (or similar algae eater) to include in my central American "biotope" tank. It is not a true biotope, as the fish are from different countries in CA... but the fish are all central American and I would like to keep it that way. I believe there are some species of pleco that range through panama in the wild. I have not been able to find much info on them online, except for the "panama red bristlenose", which would be great but is difficult to find.
Any info on plecos/algae eaters in CA would be helpful. If any of the more common species are found there, that would be convenient. If there are only rarities, I would be willing to pay a good amount to ship one in. Just need the recommendation.
Thanks

probably the easiest to find would be Royal Twig Catfish or Ancistrus chagresi

but there is also Rineloricaria uracantha, Fonchiiichthys uracanthus, Lasiancistrus planiceps, Lasiancistrus caucanus, Hypostomus aspidolepis
