Hi Everyone :)

There is a debate going on at work about Pangassius Sutchi, apparently it only grows to 30cm but I've never heard of it.

This is a picture of my larger shark, he / she / it is 13 inches. It's companion is much slimmer and 12 inches. The smaller one has much lighter colours and the fins are more pointed.

I'm just wondering if the sutchi's exist, and what would you think the ones I own are?

Thanks!

Pangasius stuchi is not a valid name any longer. Busy or i'd help more, and they get way larger than 30 cm.

I didn't think they were in existance, thanks for the help! I would have been very dissapointed to find out my "monsters" were only going to grow to 30cm!

I'll now proudly go to work and say "See? I told you so!" lol

Your cats are suthci now referred to as hypothalamus or the common iridescent shark. Females tend to be much thicker than males. My largest is currently over 2' at 2 years old.

whats the redish fish behind it faceing away from the camera

Gorgeous fish! I picked up an 18 incher from a lady that couldn't house him any longer. This is a picture of him in my 4x4x2 fiberglass tank.

I've heard about two and a half to three feet maximum size.

Hello,

These are a very beautiful fish. If they max out a 3 feet then they should still be suitable for aquarium life. :)

I bought one from a pet shop that had been returned by it's owner because it was too big. It was about 10 inches long. I kpt it for 7 years and it never grew more than 2 inches even though it spent winters in a 125 and at least 7 months of the year in an outdoor pond. It ate like a horse and was a very nice fish. I lost it one summer when a large water bird caught it out of the pond it was in while I was at work. My neighbor lady told me when i got back from work "there was the most beatiful bird in your pond today, I didn't bother it becuase it was so pretty and it seemed to realy like the pond! It was white and had very long leggs and seemed to be drinking a lot of water!" Yes I was upset but I guess things just happen sometimes!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the help, sorry for not replying sooner. I love my babies, they're the most placid easy going fish ever. The only thing I have to watch is cleaning my tank fronts, they hate it!

The fish in the background, the browny coloured one is a spangled gudgeon, he was a rescue, not the prettiest fish out but he has a great personality.

The one at the very top is a Pink Giant Gourami.

Is it possible to sex ID Sharks?

Thanks everyone! :)
