welcome to the world of pikes! def. a crenicichla sp. belly crawler. reticulate group. i believe i read peanut power say his got to 10", so dont be surprised if it gets a little bigger than most care sheets say. females display a pinkish rosy color during breeding and have a spot on the dorsal. yours looks like a male. still my favorite pike til this day! nice pick up. what are the tank mates and tank size? be sure to give that pike hiding space or...bye bye tank mates they wont bother any fish unless they are in his space! if possible add a nice sized powerhead to move water seeing as to these pikes live in heavy flowing river like systems. they should eat just about anything. mine loves frozen krill, earth worms, small feeders now and again, and sometimes (when hes not being picky.) he will eat pellets. good luck, any more info feel free to ask!
