Hello All...

Looking to move beyond just my beardie and geckos.......Does anyone on here currently keep Panther Chameleons? I have always been told they stress really easily, and can't be in a high traffic area. Truth to this or myth? Also, if anyone has a pic or two of their set-up that would be awesome to see, give me a few ideas. Just the plain rectangle screen cage is a little too plain for my tastes. Appreciate any and all help!

There is at least one guy here, Mikolai with them. Yes its true they stress very easily and you cant handle them. Also in order to be healty they need more specialized food insects then just crickets and mealworms. Grasshopers, roaches and mulberryworms are good choices. And yes thouse high ventilation cages are imporant for their health.

Ask this person, or better yet check out chameleonforums.com that should give you some info on what to do. All in all though just do some research on them and your all G.

And yes chams stress out easily don't keep them in places where there is too much activity in the house like your room for example, chams need a lot of privacy since in the wild they are solitary animals only getting together to mate. You could build your own screen cage for it but no glass!! You could also try free-ranging but be sure the area for the free-range is escape proof. Keep them on a varied diet like crickets, roaches, hornworms & silkworms, mantids, etc. all be sure to dust your insects oh and to gut load em. Be sure they get water daily. One misting in the morning and one in the afternoon. Have a dripper in the enclosure as well to make sure they have water when your not home.
