Hi guys, I'm planning to set up a tank based on a pair of African butterflyfish. Thinking of a 20 long or a 30. I'm thinking of having upside down catfish and/or kribs as tankmates.

Are these suitable tankmates? If so how many of each should I stock if I decide on:

1. just upside downs
2. just kribs
3. both species

Any other suggested tankmates for a biotope/theme setting (I might not have space for a 55)?

Thanks!

Ctenopoma, the African Climbing Perch one of these may look cool in there.

or maybe some african barbs. six line barbs or something like that, cant remember now.

Yeah I was thinking of ctenopoma as well, but I'm not sure whether we can get them here in Sydney. Also I'm only familiar with the leopard ctenopoma and from what I've read this species needs a 55? Any smaller species that anyone can recommend?

Couldn't find much about the six line barb. Anybody know the scientific name?

cant remember their scientific name but search striped barb

Seems like the barbs are from Asia?

Anyway did a little searching and seems like the leopard ctenopoma is available in Australia and I can do with one in a 30g.

So I might have 2 pantodons and 1 ctenopoma, and some kribs and/or upside down catfish. How many would be good?
