Well. I threw these fish and a few carpintis and a few black belts into a 1000gallon vat AKA “cenote azule” this morning. The peeling ones had substantially peeled while in quarantine. The barred fish haven’t started to peel yet, maybe won’t? These are F1 Lago Nicaragua fish. I bet we haul some nice fish out of this vat in October.

Hello C. Breeze C. Breeze ,
Those Midas are looking great. It's kinda rare to see posts of F1 Midas lately. Many members here keep Midevils. I'm not hating on Midevils because they look good too, and I like them also. That black one is crazy looking. Nice pick up. Good luck with those future serial killers.

Cool feeding video C. Breeze C. Breeze ,
It's pretty neat to watch fish eat from up above. I wanna see that black Midas again just to see if he's pealed yet. I've never seen Midas so black before.

I do not think that fish has peeled. I don’t think the really gold one has either- I still only ever see 4 peeled fish at one time and they look different pretty much every day It’s tough to say becuase the black belts are really close in size know to those Midas. I’m going to cast net it and look at everybody in a couple weeks unless I know There’s a pair that’s spawned. I know there is a bonded pair of carpintis in there and it honestly looked like the 3rd carpintis and a peeled Midas were running around together for a little while so they may spawn who knows. But I haven’t seen any pairing activity from the rest of Midas at about 4” but that doesn’t mean they aren’t. Lots you can miss out there.

Feeding time @ cenote azul. Defintely some fry in there feeding as well as the bigger fish. The Midas are closing in on 6” the black belts and carpintis are not growing as fast- maybe they were spawning? carpintis will spawn when they’re only a few inches.
LOL looks like bodies being grabbed and snatched under...

NEED UNDERWATER CAMERA :grinyes:
