Ok this place called aquatic imports Hawaii has them they are really rare and have an oppertunaty to buy one I just need to know what they eat what temperature and what tank mates to put them with

Mine has eaten pellets but now eats raw shrimp, fish filet and small fish.It gets along fine with the bigger fish in its tank.

Yep and I've read that there is only one species but there are regional variants.

Afer and congoensis are two different species. Congoensis are rarely exported. I used to have 3 but all died. They seem to grow smaller compare to afer. Mine only reach 12" but since I only have them for almost 2 years cant really tell for sure for max size. As my afers out grew them and reach 18-20"+. Temperment are the same and care are the same as afer and other featherbacks. The only difference between the two is the patterns. Afers have golden spots while congoensis have black spots.

King el what did yours live with and where did u get them

I exported mine myself but Toyin used to have them too. I kept them with bichirs and other asian featherbacks. They just shoal with my afers.
