Thanks, appreciate the compliments. The male is around the 15" mark (measuring in tank so not exact). I can't wait to see him when he gets some more mass. He is starting to get braver when I clean the tank already. He hasn't come after me yet but I can see him thinking about it.
Love the Nic. male, had one many years ago 16", same color and been looking for one since. Had a few costa ricans but they were not the same to me. now i have a pair that I grew from fry around 6 " inches and they are really coloring up and holding their adult colors more and more , they even laid eggs about a month ago. but i have a chanco that about 71/2 inches long and probably close to 6" deep, they couldnt defend their flowerpot from him and he evicted them and helped him self to the eggs. waiting for flowerpower or nemisis to take pics as my camera comes out blurry and doesnt show color. looking at male right now and he has that rich blue and purple. I have about 2 or 3 males that will color up as soon as they are removed from the tank if anyone wants nic. dovii in nyc. they have to go. better that they put on size than nurse fry at 6" anyway. I want that monster dovii. any one thats had one over 12" knows what im talkling about. anyway perfect pair and hes already a monster but wait till he adds 3 or 4 inches and much more bulk. its like night and day. I had mine for over 10 years and its been 12 to 15 since i had a nice nic with potential so i can wait another year. The only big dovii i had heard of back then was Guy jordan's "pablo". good luck
