I have an opportunity to pick up m/f pair of them. So far I haven't found out a great deal about them other than the like to eat cichlids and require a 200 gallon tank.

Can anyone help me out ?

TIA

very mean, get close to 2 feet.
take them about 4 or 5 years to get there though.
they can eat live food, don't recommend it though.
WATCH YA FINGAS ON WATER CHANGES.
they require more than a 200 gallon if it's a large male female pair.
no tank mates and the tank has to be atleast 2 feet wide and tall for them.
NICE FISHES!
i have a young male right now.
can't wait for him to grow up!

Guess I'll have to pass then. My largest tank is a 150 and I would have to put my Oscar and convicts in with them. They are currently in a 75.

so the pair is already large?
if their already like 20" and 14" i doubt you could.
if their like 5-9"
you could probably do a 150 gallon aslong as it's atleast 2 feet tall and wide.
just no tank mates.

My 150 measures 72 x 24 x 19.5 It's a short but wide 150 (more like 146) I think it was a store tank or a custom one.

but not with the oscar and cons. would never happen, they would become lunch.

yes i agree. convicts are fast enough to get out of the way. oscars are slow and the dovii would kill it.
