He is about 11" now. He has never been in a 55 gallon, he has always been in a 210 gallon.

There are two female dovii's growing out in a divided off section of the tank. I just introduced one of them to the male yesterday. She can get back and forth through a hole in the divider.

When he was around 4" or so he killed two females and a male.

He was a little killer. I guess I've gotten lucky w/ mine then. Or he's just not aggressive yet at about 9". My female beats the male up.
