Something about these guys that attracts me to them. Purchased a small group of freidrichstallii, different from my other freidrichstallii/loisellei variant, in hopes of a pair. Only took a picture of them in the bag acclimating.
Looking forward to their growth.

Definitely. I have a male freidrichstalli formally the loisellei variant and he's a solo big guy with attitude.

Beautiful fish, I kept one years ago, and I still refer to these as Loisellei although I know it's outdated.
On another note, Rest in Peace to Paul Loiselle who just passed away.

Not gonna lie, I can tell the difference such as you can, and I find it easier depending on body patterns which fish is what. Loisellei does have a much better ring to it.

Just an update to the tank, they barely come out so it's hard for pictures. Being they're really young, they'll hide.
I do catch them going for the krill flakes in put in the tank and then they poof lol.
