I just got a 1.5" loisellie and need to grow it out before I add it to my 150g. How fast do these guys grow? Also what are good foods? Right now it seems to love bloodworms.

Really it's almost the same as a Freddy's. Your best food is a Quality Pellet, Says 3 Days a Week, Krill 1-2x a week, Food Sticks seems to be a fav of my Freddy's. Also Spirulina Pellets were good nutrition. I even saw him Snag the majority of the massivore pellets meant for my Oxydoras Niger Catfish. Water Changes help. Some people say if fish a dominant one, it will grow faster kept with others because it's going to try to eat ahead of other fish, and exert it's energy in growing to be top dog. Whereas a solo fish could be perceived to not need to take on that persona. Some say it's all hogwash and all based off genetics and then diet/water. But remember parachromis eat best at night time.

Thanks for the info. Did your freddy's grow fast? I have heard jags do.

i also have 1.5" lou's, they have grown maybe .75" in the past month so hoping it'll continue till i get them to 3-4" for mixing.

You have to compare males to males and females to females when you are talking growth rates. My male la Ceiba is way out growing my female jag.

All of the fish we are talking about are in the 3.5" range. The la Ceiba were sold to me as a pair (not proven) and the Jag is my educated guess based on color pattern and (of course) growth rate.

hes awesome these guys will grow about as fast as a Jack Dempsey Cichlid and you can feed live rosie red minnows or fathead minnows as a treat and make sure the minnows dont have diseases or make sure they come from a good place put cichli gold or excell i thingk he would love
