I was thinking about setting up a tank with a jag, RTM, and Dovii. Would any of these three go after a stingray if I housed it with them? I was thinking either a motoro or reticulated (probably reticulated). Any advice would be appreciated.
what size tank? I don't think the Dovii will let anyone liveI was thinking about setting up a tank with a jag, RTM, and Dovii. Would any of these three go after a stingray if I housed it with them? I've been looking at a 210 gal at a LFS.
Without the dovii and Ray, would the motaguense and jag be compatible? If so, what are some other cichlids that would do well with them?

I wouldn't risk it one bite from and jag or dovii and your rays eye will be gone![]()
Mixing big cichlids is always a gamble. With that said, I think your odds of success or failure are equal as long as you cichlids that grow to about the same size and grow at about the same rate.
I'd think it'd be hard to get food to a ray with Parachromis in the tank. Same with Pleco's. And big catfish. These bottom feeders usually won't swim to the surface and compete with bigger fish at feeding time.
I think this thread will do just about.......PERFECT for these questions : http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/what-fishes-has-your-rays-killed.663855/unreadIt could work with lots of line of sight breaks and dithers... I'd keep a divider handy though... keeping 2 heavy hitters in the same tank doesn't give them anywhere to spread their aggression and they get too big to overstock...
almost time to move him in with the Tiger Shark........did you get the 29 gallon ready for them?I have a monster fader Flowerhorn with my rays. I know his behavior he only cares about others his size. I have grow outs in there as well. I sold everything else because I know these fish would hurt the Ray.
Dovii get couple feet though and jags a foot and a half. My Flowerhorn Max will hit a foot
