parachromis vs nandopsis managuense

Is the parachromis managunese and the nandopsis manguense the same fish? Im looking to buy a jag but I always thought the genus was Parachromis...the store has nandopsis listed as the genus.
 
It's parachromis as far as I know.Lfs usually label them as whatever they get them as,which is not always correct.
 
New world cichlids genus has as of late been in a constant state of change.:screwy:

Are there any of us here that remember when most everything was "cichlasoma"?

Or how about when octofasciatum was biocellatum?
 
The store owner may simply be old school. I recall the genus Parachromis popping up around 1998, I think typed by a guy named Busse. I don't recall the history of Nandopsis but I believe it held all the guapotes for a while before the Parachromis genus became more generally accepted, I believe around 2000.
