i have a few electric yellows and a couple of cobalt zebras ina 55 gal and i recently aquried an electric cat about 3" and put him in with the africans. (big mistake) one day i found my male cobalt z twitchin upside down on the bottom with a perfect bite out of his tail fin, i put him in a 10 gal where im keeping a baby frontosa, and he seems to be ok ...well not reallly i think he may be paralized from the halfway point back he just scoots around the bottom and never moves his back half. anyone ever seen anything like this before?
the catfish is now in a 10 gal. that i picked up byhimself, ugly evil little bas**rd

Yeah, I have seen that before. That is how the e-cats get there food. They stun their prey and swallow it down. But in your case he just ate what he could.

I also wouldn't be suprised if the damage done by the e-cat is permanent.

Guess a little reaserch should be done next time you buy something like that.

although I dont have an e-cat, I actually have a fish that is paralized from the mid back-back area. He did it when another mbuna was chasing him - he rammed really hard into the glass and I am assuming paralized himself. I had to seperate him. Your fish should be fine and can live a good life just make sure to take care of him. Mine went from this little fish that sat on the bottom to a vicious killing machine that swims around on front fins =)

yeah am firmilar with the cat and knew the possible damage he could do but yaknow...i took the cat in cuz it caused to much damage in a friends tank and he was just gonna flush him, i just couldnt let that happen, the fish seems to be fine, hes been in a small tank thta i had sittin around but i think im gonna put him in the big one again and just kinda watch out for him, he gets around, he just cant get far off the bottom.
