params and how to fix?

K so I have been keeping fish for over fifteen years and never bought a test kit. Well. Today I did and would like some help as to how to fix it. Ph 6 nitrite 4. Nitrate 0 ammonia 0 help please

To me I thought he ph was off? I recently added my smaller wild ocell to me tank and his fins got all chewed up from the water so I wanted to make sure my water was ok

It's the nitrite ill bet. Did you just establish this tank? What is your wc schedule? Ph is fine kind of low but I like mine this low. If you want to raise you can use crushed coral or Ph buffer.

Its a older tank water change every other week

I don't have any first hand experience with cichla yet, but I've read on here that some people like their pH at 6.5 or even 6.0.

Switch the schedule to once EVERY week.
