Parasite Check?

Is there anything I can do to give me arowana a “cleaning”? I don’t think he has any issues or visible problems but I’d like to do a cleaning of his system to make sure there’s nothing wrong. Do you suggest a medication added to the water or maybe a salt bath?

Also my aro looks like he has the beginning of gill curl. This was NOT from me but from his past owner. I don’t really want to do surgery but damn he’d be so pretty without these curls ?

I wouldn’t suggest any meds or salt bath for a cleaning. Don’t know how any fish could react to a med/salt. No risk needed.

The gill curl isn’t bad. Would just watch.

So you don’t have any routine things you do to “cleanse” your fish? Just in case they caught a parasite or something?

My LFS guy told me it’s not worth doing surgery over the gill curl but I’m bummed out about it.

Again nothing visibly wrong with my aro and he’s eating and swimming fine. Just got him from a friend who didn’t take good care of him and didn’t know if it was worth trying to flush his body out

Gill curl is caused by poor water quality... what’s you water change schedule like how much are you changing? What size aquarium is the fish in? What’s the water parameters inside your aquarium?

Sorry. Didn’t see the reply. Nothing to cleanse a fish. Fish are quarantined. I do have meds but only if I think there’s something wrong with the fish. Just cleansing creates a chance of something resistant developing. No need to create a super bug.
