I was wondering if there's any cure for parasites without having to remove activated carbon. My problem is in my quarantine/hospital tank I have an aqueon power filter, which only comes with carbon filter pads. I know I can probably find pads without carbon, but it would be alot easier if I didn't have to, as it already has all the bb on it. If there isn't, what would be the best approach. Any responses are appreciated.

Carbon is disposable, not a permanent feature. Regardless of the circumstances, when you dose treatments, always remove the carbon. Most treatments especially antibiotics can still kill your beneficial bacteria. What problem do you exactly have? External or internal parasites? Could you please tell us more about your situation here? See my diagnosis thread and please answer all questions there. More information is needed.

My gt has white stringy poop. Today I bought a box filter to put in my 10g. I put the gt in the 10g. I bought a box of clout, but I'm not sure if it's good for internal parasites. I have some extra space in my 55g power filter, and I put the filter pad from the 10g in it so it wont lose the bb. Should I use the clout, or is there something better. If any of my other fish in the 55g get the same thing should I just treat the whole tank?

If your tank has substrate, there are still some beneficial bacteria in it so I would not worry about losing your old carbon. With internal parasites, ingestion is a better approach than dosing a tank. Pound a tablet of praziquantel and mix it with frozen foods and then add garlic.

Sounds good. I will try that tomorrow. I got out of work too late today to go to the lfs. Would jungle parasite cure be the same?
