TEXAS
Pulled a few of these off of the pec fins of my TX Cichlid. I just dosed two rounds of Jungle Parasite clear and they didn't even blink. So I took one of the Cichlids out and tweezered them off. Squirmy little suckers. The biggest was about .25 inches long. Anyone?

It looks like fish leech to me. Metriphonate will eliminate external parasites.

Cool :headbang2 OK well to me because I like them but this particular one is worrysome especially at the size.

Looks like an interesting fish leech of which I'm totally at a loss about in what species. Where these Texas cichlids wild caught?

Wild caught near Bracketville, TX several months ago. The parasite just showed up recently. This is him:

I'll have to look up and key this one out..I'm not sure exactly which genus this leech is in.

If there are additional leeches on the fish just traet it with a salt bath, there is no need for chemical treatment. Use 4 tbs per gallon and dip the fish for 60 seconds or so.

It's be a Texas Cichlid (Rio Grande Perch - locally). Wild Caught in a local creek. Meanest fish I've ever seen..I also caught this female which he quickly ripped to shreds :irked:

He's also disbatched almost 9 big Mexican Tetras I only have one left which is constantly running for it's life.
