Seems like tetra parasite guard is no longer available. Can anyone suggest a good parasite med to use when qt'ing new fish ?

Metronidazole Or metro for short commonly found in a human medicine called flagyl

250mg per 20 us gal

I don't believe he mentioned if it is for internal or external disease
However since you did mention parasite gaurd being out of stock I would just recommend API's General Cure as it has the same 2 ingredients that were found in Tetra, which are Metro and Prazi. (Tetra had 2 other ingredients as well though)
I would not use those though if you are just Q'Ting new fish that aren't sick
For external I personally like Seachem's Paraguard. Or to prevent disease, Polyguard.

Thx for the suggestions. Ive been treating with PG while qt'ing new fish for yrs. I dont see an iasue with it and never had any negative reactions.

Yeah...it’s odd. I went to a big box pet store and they sell exactly zero fish meds unless it’s organic like Melafix. However, they offer a healthy 30 day guarantee on fish. The employee said the store just stop carrying fish meds
Hey jaws7777 if you're talking kinda bigger fish I'd recommend Ocean Free's 'O' Disease (for Arowana and other medium to big size fish) as I've just posted about in another thread -- very much doubt you'll see it at any LFS but I think you can find it on Ebay.
