After spending a night in my tank i have noticed small little parasites have appeared on the crappies head. They were not there yesterday when i caught the fish and they seem to be multiplying. They have not yet moved on to my catfish. They look somewhat like small little leeches. They are fat where they are connected to the fish then they have tails. I took the best photos i could of them. If anyone knows what these are and how i could treat them please share.

Needs to be treated. Start with heat (Mid 80's if species can tolerate it) and salt per directions on the box of aquarium salt. Jungle parasite clear works pretty good and is relatively safe. I'v used it with all my wild caught natives. Most wild caught have them but tolerate them. The stress of being in your tank prob caused them to be exposed.

well first thing I would suggest if you are pulling fish out of the wild into your keeping.

do not ever re release them

2. set up a seperate tank to put them in treatment regime so you don't end up infecting a whole tank

most inportantly good looking fish must be interesting to have wild caught fish
