:(This x pbass died this morning. I looked inside to see if I could find anything visible . I found 2 flat worm type attached by his anus. Also found a large worm attached to stomach wall. I cut the worm off the stomach and there was a orangey like jellow substance inside. I dosed with praziquantel in the water when I recieved these fish,as one of this group of fish had visible worms under skin. The affected fish got better and I thought everything was ok. Recently I have lost 2 other with also a flat worm visible inside one of them for sure. I am not real familiar with internal organs ,other than cleaning fish and removing them. So, wasnt sure about the other fish, but After seeing the same worm in this fish I can confirm it was present in the other fish . What seems to happen is the worms block the waste output and gas builds inside the fish and they die soon after .These fish exhibited loss of appetite ,then get sluggish, then next lose balance and spin to death. Tomorrow I will start to dose all my fish by putting jungle medicated food pellets in thier food . which has metronidazole, praziquantel, levamisole,in it . These appear to be two different kinds of worm . The pictures of large worm are on envelope ,and next to toothpick for flat type worm ,for size referance. Anyone have ideas on which species of worm ? Thanks for answers.

I have no idea on worm species, but the big one looks like a roundworm of some kind, so I'd think it has to be a different species than the flatworms... May take 2 different meds to treat. You can try the Jungle food, but I had trouble getting my loaches to eat it. I had to starve them, soak frozen bloodworms in Parasite Clear, then use garlic to get them interested. Only method I found that worked.

Thanks for I.D. on worms ,shouldnt be a problem to get them to eat medicated food as it will be inside thier normal food(small pellets inside silversides)

These are camallanus worms also categorized under nematodes. Levamisole hydrochloride, flubendazole or fenbendazole is your best bet. Prazi and metro will not do anything to this issue I'm afraid. If cestodes (flatworms) are somehow involved, then prazi perhaps sorted this issue temporarily but not the nematodes, a more dangerous parasite.

Lupin ,thanks for info .I am treating with medicated food which has Levamisole in it. Are the two smaller worms in picture camallanus worms ?

Yes, these are camallanus. Good call on levamisole although the pure old-fashioned levamisole HCl would be much more powerful to nematodes but they're phased out and replaced by fenbendazole it seems. You can buy Panacur which contains fenbendazole in veterinary clinics.
