so i have a jack dempsey i recently purchased and didnt quarantine (stupid i know) and i put him in my new world cichlid tank. so he starts showing parasite signs about a week later like stringy white poo, spitting food out, sunken belly, darting around the tank sometimes randomly, and rapidly shaking. so i have just been keeping an eye on him for the last couple days and this morning i noticed my firemouth start showing some of the same symptoms, so i treated the tank with tetra parasite guard this afternoon around 1...
the water turned lime green at first and over the past few hours the green tinge is fading... is this normal? there is no carbon in any of my filters. but i stupidly forgot to take my driftwood outta the tank before dosing.
about 4 hours later the firemouths symptoms already started going away -- which is great. the jack seems the same as of now.
the directions on the box says "treatment can be repeated up to two times with 48 hours between treatments and a 25% water change"
my question is - when i treat again on monday at 1 (48 hours from now), do i do full 1 tab per 10 gallons for the whole tank? or just re treat the 25% water that i put back in? also, should i even treat again after the first one? and why is the green tinge on my water going away?
