Parasites attached to my catfishs belly

You're sure they aren't fry?

Manual removal is the safest and quickest way. Is this a new catch or have these appeared in your tank? Treatment may be needed if these are reproducing in your tank, but if it's a new specimen, removing the adults might be all that's needed.

Pretty sure its not fry, it's the only tandanus in the tank and I dont think he/she couldn't reproduce by itself or with my salmon tail. The fish has been in the tank for a while. The only inclusion was a sleepy cod a couple months ago.

I've only just noticed it today, I dont have a clue what it is.

Can you get a better-lit picture? Do they have eyes, hooks, little legs, anything describable?

They look like fish lice ( common over here...) not sure how to get rid of them totaly , but removing them louse by louse works and they might not come back... sorry OZ sucks for getting treatments that work.

Well, actually, they don't look like fish lice in that photo. They're acting like fish lice for sure, but it would really be best to see a better pic or a more thorough description.

They look just like little tadpoles, sorry thats probably the best pic I can get, it took me ages because he doesn't stop swimming. It is irritating him, he is scratching on the gravel alot.

Oh, geez. Yeah, get him into a big tray and pick those things off, then.

I am saying fish lice , only because we don't seem to have to many parasites like that over here.... but I agree with the pic it's impossible to say.. sorry
