The back end of hell.
Hi. I have two active tanks;

1) Snails, shrimp betta.
2) Crayfish, danio's, molly's

I gave a treat of broccoli in both tanks recently, also i added eggshells to add some calcium into the water and changed to a food for my shrimp/crayfish rich in calcium by hikari (which i would not reccomend, they contain MSG!).

4 - 7 days on and i have now spotted large quantities of small dark dots on the eggshells in both tanks, and on a couple on my snails. I have also spotted one aim itself onto an algae wafer, they may be on other items in the tank, but most of my decor is dark so it is hard to tell.

There is also a small cluster of what could be eggs on a stone, although that would make each egg about 10x the size of whatever these bugs are. My inclination is that this is simply shrimppoo, but i may be wrong.

My danio's have had a thing about swimming amongst my fake plants for a while, as if itching, although this seems to have stopped lately. My crayfish seem to self clean alot also. The molly's have a thing about being at the top of my tank lately too, although this could be un related (possible nitrite spike from fry food).

The small darkish spots seem to be able to swim, i removed the filter to stop any current to confirm this. They primarily gather on calcium sources as far as i am aware.

The actual colour is like a brown/green/kahki although it is hard to tell without a microscope.
If i was to compare them to something to aid in identification i would liken them to greenfly, as they seem to be like small 'pods'

What steps should i take to remedy this, and are my fish/inverts at risk? Thanks for reading.

I dont know if this will help evaluate the situation, but the bridgessii snails in my shrimp tank have eaten the things i thought where eggs (so they where not poo,and likely eggs)

They have also eaten a large portion of the 'insects' or whatever they are that where on the egg shell, i suspect however this is a temporary fix.

Im thinking now they are not parasites as they are found by and large in the enviroment as oppose to latching to a host. (the only exception being the ones on the snails shell's)

Anyone able to fill me in on whether my fish/inverts are at risk and if i should be taking any preventative measures here please?

The last thing i want is something tearing through them if i could have done more, im considering bleaching everything, including my filters.
