I believe I have parasites. I have never come across these ones before. The water quality is perfect and the gravel is regularly vacuumed. Also there is salt in the tank (freshwater).
These things are small! I'm talking 1 millimeter or less. white and skinny as a hair. you can't see them unless you get reeeeeaaally close and squint. The fish are doing fine. Nothing on the fish.
I went to get copper at a LFS and the guy said not to worry, they weren't parasites. They appear when the gravel isn't vacuumed. I forget what he said they were called...
Should I copper the tank?

Planaria...And I try to avoid copper at all costs...It limits what you can keep in the future....Up the water changes and gravel vacs....I would do 50% changes with a gravel vac, until it clears...It is not harmful to the fish, but is a sign of "sluffing" off a bit on the husbandry...Good luck and it is no big deal ....:)

what you describe is called Planaria---excessive feeding and low on water changes..do not put copper!!! Change the water and reduce on the feedings.

I'll have to cut back on the feeding. I have done 3 50% water changes and gravel vac's in the last month, but not enough I guess with the amount of fish and quantity of food being fed.
