my flowerhorn seems a little bloated and have noticed some stringyness to his poop, is this parasites if so how do i treat? thanks for the help.

If it is still eating then it is not Hex. If there is normal poop with stringy poop and your fish hasn't loss any appetite at all whatsoever. Your fish is fine, if the stringy poops continues often then you may treat it. Other wise...just keep an eye on it.

well i've never actually seen it take a normal poop but there is plenty in the tank when cleaning but have seen several stringy almost clear poops lately and yes he is still eating like its gonna be his last meal

If it is still eating then it is not Hex.

Hexamita (the correct term is spironucleus vortens) does not just pop up overnight, it is an infestation of parasitic flagellates that frequently occur within the lumen of the intestine. Under periods of stress, these flagellates multiply to the point that the fish becomes very ill, stops eating, and begins shedding the lining of its intestine. In advanced stages it can lead to death, but can be successfully treated if caught early.

If it is still eating, it can most certainly still be hexamita/spironucleus.
It could simply be a mild infestation, or early signs of worse things to come.

Read the studies in my link, as well as this one.

Treating with the epsom salt solution is the safest, cheapest, and most effective way to eradicate these parasites if the fish is still eating.

I understand that it doesn't pop overnight. So I'm not sure what you considered as Hex. But I've had many cases of hex with a few of my flowerhorns. Shedding those white stringy poop look is a natural phase, but if very often and being long and stringy may very well be the beginning stage of hex.
Shedding white poop often and still eats, then this may be a case of needing to deworm your fish.

Read the links, you just might learn something.
