Hi :-), a friend of mine has this paratheraps/vieja (that he is gonna give me the next time I visit him) that came in a bag of wild live feeder fish from an unknown site from Mexico....right now the size is around 3" (at least that's what my friend told me) and he says that it's growing a lot faster than other paratheraps/viejas in the same aquarium (bifasciatus and synspilum) and is kicking their asses.....
It looks to me like a p. zonatus or p. hartwegi....what the real id could be???...Thank's a lot :-)

No one will be able to answer with absolute certainty as it could well be a hybrid. To my eyes it most closely resembles fenastratus.
