Paratilapia Polleni "small spot"

I have a few questions..
1- how do you sex them?
2- are they compatible with butterkoferi?
3- whats the best background for this all black fish? i have blue up with playsand bottom... im thinkin bout putting black back up with white sand... what you think?

Males will have a taller body, generally more spots and longer fins. The most prominent trait though is the hump forehead.

Both mine(males) do not play well with others, though I've never had a butti.

With my 10" male it doesn't seem to matter what background or substrat I use, he is always jet black. The smaller one I had in a tank with white sand/black background and he often looked yellow.
 
are they noticeable more with black background?
 
put up pics ill put mine up... i just got them and they are loving eac other but trying to kill my female dovii growout so i separated them
 
What do i feed them they are noteating the blood worms pellets and river shrmp...
 
they normally are not picky with food, mine eats pellets and most larger frozen foods without being too picky
