Paratilapia polleni

Hi all,

These are a few pictures of my new fish, after a large downsize I only have this one fish and a shrimp tank. One member of this forum should recognise this fish (I bought it from where they work), so hopefully they will see its still alive

I decided to set up one aquarium in the living room as a 'show tank' - well thats the theory. The tank only has 1 fish - a Paratilapia polleni, I'm undecided on tankmates at the moment, thinking of some rainbows for dithers, some sort of catfish and maybe a BN plec - or possibly have it as a single wet pet.

All pictures taken without flash - I'm really hoping that this fish develops into a good looking fish, its only around 1-2" at the moment but I think it has potential.

great fish. always love the pollenis. one of the only cichlids (aside from emps and pbass) i could ever see myself keeping. looking forward to seeing its progress loving the blue spotting btw

Pretty fishy. I'd personally try and keep it as a solo wet pet, possibly with a BN Pleco or two.

Excellent choice. I've either got or had every kind of fish I've wanted. Except a Polleni. Someday in the future that's what I'll get.
