I want a bit of info on thse guys iv done a bit of reasurch and I was wondering if a 40 breeder would be ok for a single specimen tank? I read online that a 52 gallon is minimum for a pair, so a 40 breeder would work for one, right?

If you'd done your *research you'd know that they aren't CA/SA they're Madagascan. You'd also know they grow upto 12" (males) so a 40 breeder is too small. Even a 55 is pushing it IMO.

Edit: ^^beat me to it^^

I've known of a single female kept alone in a 60G by a member who is very diligent with water care.
Females are quite a bit smaller & less bulky than males. A pair needs much more tank, not just for combined size, but also any mating aggression.

Whoops I thought I had posted that in the Madagascar section my bad also Im just asking no need to get mad. Maybe ill upgrade

I'd say a standard 40 gallon breeder (36"X18") would be fine for a SINGLE male polleni. IMHO, it'd be better than a 55. If you have the filtration and can keep the water quality good, I say go for it.

I would be running an ac 110 and a marineland 200 and do 20% wc everyday and 70% every weekend For the current fish I have

A 40b or 55g would be fine for a paratilapia polleni, though a 65g 36x18x24" would be much better then the 40b but with the same footprint.
