Hey Tom. Congrats! polleni are awesome, and very easy to keep. Moderately hard water, ph 7-8 and typical temps 78 - 80 and they will thrive! You can feed them anything you have around, no problems with bloat or anything. They keep very similar to central american cichlids.

good luck!

very aggressive..
ive had one of these take on a jaguar 3 times his size..
but stunning
i suggest hard water..
very good food..
and they seem to like alot of current

thanks guys,,one-more ???? can i keep them with African cichlids?

thanks for the info guys....:)

They tend to be really rough on each other - I've bought groups of fry a couple of times and had them winnow down to a single male.

I wouldn't keep them with anything too aggressive or nippy. I've kept them with big haps like livingstoni... as well as with Severums, centrarchus and the like. Mbuna will pick them to pieces.

Matt

Hey Tom, I just picked up 4 6" Paratalapia Bleekeri as well. I will be putting them in my 250G with 10" Midas's, Green Terrors, Green Texas and such.
