I suppose whether or not the eggs make it through the night is the question.
The parents are very protective at the moment, so I removed to other very beat up Paratilapia, and 2 xCichlasoma bocourti. But left 2 small bocourti to act as targets, the Paratilapia sternly push them away, but seem to be not threatened enough by their presence to annihilate them.

One of the larger bocourti being removed

and one of the other Paratilapia that needed to be removed.

So far, so good, the eggs made it thru the night, and the female is still staying close, while the male hovers further away protecting the entire end of the tank.

They tended the eggs for a few days, then gone.
I figured the 125 is just too small, and not secluded enough, so just this morning I've dropped the pair and another Paratilapia that's blind in one eye into the intex pool with the Paretroplus.
Hopefully 500 gallons will help them be more comfortable.
